Transfer deadline day LIVE: Arsenal target striker and latest news from Man Utd, Newcastle, Everton and Chelsea

Premier League clubs have less than 24 hours left to conclude their January transfer business and, with several big deals expected to go through, we could be in store for one of the busiest deadline days in recent years.

Premier League clubs have spent a staggering £195m so far in January, compared with £70m by the end of January 2021, and that figure will only grow leading up to Monday night’s deadline.

Newcastle United, one of the richest clubs in the world following their Saudi-Arabia-backed takeover in October, continue to be linked with a string of players as Eddie Howe looks to help the club avoid relegation.

Everton, who are set to confirm former England midfielder Frank Lampard as their new manager, are also expected to be busy on deadline day.

Manchester United are more focussed on outgoings than incoming signings and the likes of Jesse Lingard, Donny van de Beek and Dean Henderson could all secure deadline-day moves.

Likewise, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will try to force through a move away from Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta keen to replace the Gabon forward with a new striker and bolster the club’s midfield options if possible.

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to make their first signings since Antonio Conte took over, while London rivals Chelsea could yet strengthen Thomas Tuchel’s squad while allowing the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley leave Stamford Bridge.

All in all it should be a busy and exciting deadline day – stay tuned to Metro.co.uk’s blog for all the latest rumours and done deals.
