Tottenham news: Steven Bergwijn confirms he wants to leave and Spurs 'lose interest' in Dybala

Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Monday, June 6.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly no longer interested in signing Argentine forward Paulo Dybala. The 28-year-old is available on a free transfer after he confirmed that he will leave Juventus when his contract expires at the end of June.

Dybala made 293 appearances during eight highly successful seasons in Turin, scoring 115 goals and notching a further 48 assists. His impending free agent status made him one of the most sought after strikers in Europe.

The Argentina forward has been linked with a move to the Premier League however, according to the Daily Mail, Spurs have spurned the opportunity to bring him to north London due to his £280,000-a-week wage demands.

Tottenham players preparing to experience gruelling Antonio Conte pre-season like no other

Steven Bergwijn has admitted that he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer in order to play regular football.

The 24-year-old Dutchman played 32 times for Spurs across the last campaign, scoring four goals, including two dramatic late goals at Leicester City, and laying on two assists. However, Bergwijn started just four Premier League games last season despite praise from both Antonio Conte and also Nuno Espirito Santo before him, and the winger often got just a handful of minutes from the bench late in matches.

Ajax attempted to sign Bergwijn in the January transfer window but Tottenham rebuffed their efforts with Conte stating that he wanted to keep the player, who joined Spurs from PSV Eindhoven in January 2020 in a £27m deal. Ajax are believed to be attempting again to bring the player back to the Netherlands.
