Tottenham 'definitely' looking at Steven Bergwijn replacement at Hotspur Way

Tottenham could still look to sign a wide player before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Antonio Conte is believed to be in the market for an attacker, although it’s still unclear whether that might be a winger or creator.

It’s been a productive window for Spurs, who have managed to welcome seven new arrivals and significantly improve their squad, which has already been highlighted against Chelsea and Wolves.

But following the recent departures of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso and the potential exit of Bryan Gil, Tottenham will have just five attacking players throughout their entire squad.

Thankfully for Conte, he has some of the Premier League’s best forwards at his disposal in Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane, but there remains a question mark over whether he needs another body at the top end of the pitch despite Richarlison’s arrival.

As a result, Spurs have been linked with several forward-thinking players and while some may argue that a number 10 is the priority, Jones reckons that it’s worth “keeping an eye” on a potential wide addition.

Jones hasn’t ruled out Spurs signing another wide player and reckons that Traore, who was described as a ‘world-beater‘ by Steve Bull, could be a good cheap option, with the speedster set to be available for just £10m.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “There are other names on their list that are much better value [than Anthony Gordon].

“Adama Traore has got to be one that is looked at under this umbrella, but it’s one to keep an eye on, I definitely think that Tottenham are looking for a player of this type.”
