Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou responds to Marcus Rashford transfer question before Man United clash

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou said he has "other people to do that part of the process" when asked if there was a chance his club could move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

Rashford revealed on Tuesday evening that he was keen to take on a "new challenge" away from United, after the England international was left out of the squad for Sunday's derby win over Manchester City.

The academy graduate told journalist Henry Winter in an interview: "If I know that a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person.

"When I leave, I will make a statement, and it will be from me. When I leave, it is going to be 'no hard feelings'. You are not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United - that's me as a person.

"I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps."

United boss Ruben Amorim said he wants Rashford to remain at United in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday morning but speculation is now rife over which club Rashford could move to.

Ahead of United's trip to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, Spurs boss Postecoglou was asked whether the North London side would be interested in making a move for the England international.
