'Total confidence' - Nottingham Forest warning sent to Championship promotion rivals

Winger Joe Lolley says Nottingham Forest will approach the rest of the season with no fear - regardless of who they come up against.

A five-match winning streak in the Championship has propelled the Reds into fourth spot, as well as bolstering an unshakable confidence in themselves as a group. And the goal is to improve even further.

Not only have Steve Cooper’s side put themselves firmly in the top-six mix with seven games to go, they have also applied pressure on second-placed Bournemouth by closing the gap to just six points. Forest’s rearranged trip to the Vitality Stadium for their penultimate fixture could yet be decisive.

Before then, though, there is a crucial Easter weekend double-header, starting with Friday’s visit to promotion rivals Luton Town. Lolley says the squad will approach every fixture full of self-belief.

“Me personally, and I think I speak for a lot of the lads, I don’t think we really look at any team and fear anyone,” he said. “You respect every team in the division - you have to, because everyone has got their own qualities. You’re not in this division if you’re not a good team.

“But we just concentrate on what we can do. We know if we play to our maximum, do everything we want to do and do it well, we’re going to cause problems to every team. I think we’ve shown that throughout this season. It’s just having confidence in our own players and us as a group.

“I think we’ve got a strong mentality within the squad. I just think we’ve got total confidence in each other as a group.

“We completely believe in ourselves. We believe we are where we are because we deserve to be, and we want to get better.

“We’re not just happy to be here and thinking we’re doing well. We want to be better each game.
