The Buffalo Bills opened Highmark Stadium in style, blowing past the Detroit Lions 41-31 on Thursday night.

Buffalo scored a touchdown on its first four drives, jumping out to a 27-7 lead and cruising the rest of the way. Detroit never cut its deficit to single digits once Buffalo went up 14-0 with 3:42 left in the first quarter. The Bills put up 446 total yards, averaged 6.5 yards per play and scored a touchdown on all five of their trips to the red zone.

The catalyst of the Buffalo's dominant offensive display? Quarterback Josh Allen, who put together a virtuoso performance. He threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns, while running for 69 yards and two scores. Running back James Cook III added 135 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

Allen has accounted for nine touchdowns this season — five passing and four rushing — and hasn't turned it over in the Bills' first two games. He's the third player all time with at least nine combined touchdowns with no turnovers over his team's first two games of a season, according to Elias. The other two players went on to win the MVP.

Lions quarterback Jared Goff had 327 passing yards and four touchdowns, while running back Jahmyr Gibbs added 113 total yards and a score. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had nine catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns.
