Tony Mowbray confirms Blackburn Rovers injury blow from Stoke defeat

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has cofirmed that midfielder Bradley Dack suffered an injury while warming up at half time in his side’s defeat to Stoke on Monday.

Since making his return from a second ACL injury in as many seasons last March, Dack had featured in six consecutive matches for Rovers, scoring once and providing one assist.

All of those appearances had come from the bench, where the 28-year-old once again started during Monday’s clash with Stoke.

But after appearing to suffer something of a blow during the warm-up at half time in that match, with Rovers already 1-0 down, Dack did not get on the pitch during the second half of that game.

Now, Mowbray has confirmed that was indeed due to an injury that the midfielder picked up while warming up during the interval.

Providing an update on Dack, the Blackburn boss was quoted by the Lancashire Telegraph as saying: “I’m really trying to get Dack back up to speed for this football club, that’s why I’ve made changes at half time, not always because of the performance of the team.

“Yet Dack didn’t come on because he got injured warming himself up at half time.”

Following that defeat to Stoke that means they have now won just two of their last 15 games, Blackburn are eighth in the Championship, three points off the play-off, ahead of their trip to Preston on Monday.

This will be a big blow for Blackburn if it turns out Dack will be missing for any length of time due to this injury.
