Tony Bellew delivers 'uncomfortable' Campbell Hatton verdict after seventh win in a row

Saturday night saw Campbell Hatton win his seventh successive fight to continue the unbeaten start to his career against Ezequiel Gregores. However, Tony Bellew said he felt 'uncomfortable' watching the Mancunian when speaking as part of the fight's coverage for DAZN after Hatton won via points.

Hatton was rarely troubled on the cards by Gregores, but Bellew says that the style in which Hatton fights was cause for concern after the amount of punches he took from his opponent, Bellew explained: "Campbell is a face-first fighter and he took an awful lot tonight," he added. "I was uncomfortable with some of the right hands he was taking and how he was taking them."

After the fight, Hatton was pleased to have won the, thanking the fans in Manchester for their support after receiving a positive reception from his home crowd. He wrote: "Always proud to fight in Manchester. Thanks for the support out there tonight"

Hatton is the son of former fighter Ricky Hatton and was part of an undercard for Conor Benn vs Chris Van Heerden, a fight which was won by Benn. Also in attendance at the Manchester Arena for the event was former world champion Carl Froch, who also offered his view on the 21-year-old's style.

"He didn't have any respect for any of the punches coming back because they had no power. You can allow him that mistake if you like. He's keen and eager to get his shots off; he wants to impress and he wants to put that Ricky Hatton performance in which [featured] a ferocious pace."
