Tonbridge Angels boss Steve McKimm looks ahead to his side's big match against National League South basement boys Billericay Town

Manager Steve McKimm says Tonbridge will not be under-estimating basement boys Billericay this weekend.

Billericay, managed by Jody Brown, are at the foot of National League South, six points behind 18th-placed Angels, who have a game in hand on them, ahead of Saturday’s meeting.

But Billericay do have ex-Gillingham and Charlton midfielder Josh Wright in their ranks, while on-loan Charlton striker Dylan Gavin’s spell with the club was extended for another month this week.

Billericay beat Dulwich in their last competitive fixture, too, and McKimm said: “They are all big. I have said that before - whether it’s Ebbsfleet, Hemel or Billericay, they are all big games for us.

“Billericay have made some great signings and picked up some good results recently.

"They are on the front-foot and they have a manager working incredibly hard to get them out of the situation they are in.

“It’s going to be as hard a game as any for us. Our season is not defined on Saturday, we have another 14 league games after that. But we will do our best and see where we are, come 5pm.

“It (the league) is the toughest it’s been for a long time.”

Tonbridge were due to play at Hampton last weekend but the match was subject to a late postponement. The game has been re-arranged for Tuesday, April 5.

“Both managers were asked how we felt about the pitch by the ref. We said we were happy to play,” explained McKimm.

“But when we went to do our warm-up, it got a lot worse. It was an understandable decision.

“Could it (the decision) have been made earlier? Possibly.

"But it was the right decision in the end.”

McKimm is hoping another good home crowd turn out at Longmead for their match against Billericay.

He stated: “We have had some great support recently.
