Tonbridge Angels boss Alan Dunne says his fifth-placed side are capable of hitting even greater heights in this season’s National League South campaign

Tonbridge moved into the top five on Tuesday night - and manager Alan Dunne vowed there’s more to come.

Angels made it three wins out of four in National League South after building on last Saturday’s 3-3 comeback draw at unbeaten Chelmsford by defeating Folkestone 2-0 at Longmead.

Dunne’s men sit just four points behind new leaders Ebbsfleet.

“It’s nice to be in and around it although there’s a long way to go,” said Dunne.

“But I’m disappointed we’re not top, if I’m being brutally honest. Against Maidstone here it was three points we missed out on, and Hemel, we drew that one.

“So I’m probably disappointed that we aren’t top, because I think we’ve done enough this season to have been there.

“But we aren’t for a reason, so I’ll take fifth but I still think there’s more to come.

“I expect us to win every game, and I want us to win every game. I got promoted out of Bromley with a low budget so it’s all that noise about that. It’s how you recruit and recruit the right people, and then utilise your budget.

“I want us to aim for the top. If we finish 10th, we finish 10th. If we finish mid-table, we finish mid-table. But we’ve got to have a starting point.

“I think we try and aim as high as we can up in the league, and then when we finish, we’ll finish.

“But other teams have got to get out of this league, the pressure and the money they’ve spent.

“For us, it’s about enjoying staying in the league, enjoying it, improving each season, developing players, and that’s where we’re at the moment.”

Dunne’s high standards are underlined by his desire to see more goals from his team.

But he has to remind himself that only four teams have scored more league goals than the Angels so far this season.

“I’ve got a lot of different options
