Tommy Hewitt leaves post as Sligo Rovers boss
Tommy Hewitt has departed as Sligo Rovers boss with just two games to go in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division season.
Hewitt took the reins at the Showgrounds at the start of this year, replacing Steve Feeney.
The Bit O'Red have endured a tough time in the league, propping up the table having drawn five and lost 13 of their 18 games.
In recent weeks they had a slight upturn in form, losing a tight FAI Cup semi-final 1-0 to league leaders Athlone Town, Hewitt's former club.
However they are set for more change after Hewitt's exit.
Sligo travel to Cork City on Saturday and then wrap up their season with a home clash against Wexford on 12 October.
A club statement issued on Wednesday afternoon read: "Sligo Rovers can confirm women's first team manager Tommy Hewitt has left the club by mutual consent.
"Hewitt guided the team to this year's FAI Cup semi final. We would like to put on record our appreciation of all of Tommy's hard work and thank him for his time at the club."
