Tommy Fury told to avoid Tyson Fury 'serious' mistake by boxing legend amid Jake Paul callout

Boxing icon Roy Jones Jr has hinted at a possible fight with Jake Paul after his exhibition bout with Tommy Fury.

The fight between the younger Fury brother and the super middleweight legend is set to go ahead after talks between the two parties were confirmed to have been made earlier this week. Fury would come into the bout off the back of his win on points over YouTube star KSI in their clash in Manchester last month, while Jones Jr most recently lost a majority decision to former UFC champion Anthony Pettis.

Now aged 54, Jones Jr is best known for his explosive style which he complemented with exceptional footwork which earned him a controversial silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and is considered by many to be one of the greatest pound-for-pound boxers of all time.

Boasting a record of 66-10 after 76 fights, he also became the first former middleweight champion to win a heavyweight title in 106 years after his win over John Ruiz saw him claim the WBA heavyweight title in 2003. But now he's got his eyes set on Fury and Paul - both of whom have become boxing stars in their own right through the 'YouTube era' as Jones put it.

While Paul looks ahead to his bout against 10-1 professional boxer Andre August next month, Fury's father John Fury has opened the door to a showdown between the two fighters.

"We’re speaking to Roy Jones Jr," he told Free Bets UK. "We can do something with him. I’m giving it some thought at the time of speaking. Roy Jones Jr is a great guy. He’s a lovely fella, a stand-up man and a hall-of-fame great.
