Tommy Fury releases statement confirming why he has withdrawn from Darren Till fight

Tommy Fury has confirmed he has withdrawn from his bout with Darren Till on Misfits 20 next month.

Fury was set to make his return to boxing after more than a year out when he fought Till at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester on Saturday, January 18. The former Love Island star, the half-brother of former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has not stepped inside a ring since his victory over YouTuber KSI in October 2023.

Till, on the other hand, held an impressive 18-5 MMA record before transitioning from the Octagon to the ring in 2024. He kicked off his boxing career with a technical knockout victory over Mohammad Mutie, but the fight was marred by a mass brawl that erupted following the end of the bout.

However, Fury has now confirmed that he has withdrawn from the fight due to Till not wanting to abide by the professional boxing rules. In a statement posted on Instagram, he wrote: "I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans.

"I have wasted weeks in training camp. We are working hard to get a new opponent and date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner."
