Tomás Ó Sé: Dublin-Mayo at the Hyde not whetting the appetite

The Dublin-Mayo games of the last decade had a certain allure, but that's not the case now, says Tomás Ó Sé.

Ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland SFC group game between the counties at Dr Hyde Park, Ó Sé feels Mayo are not at the same pitch they were when they ran the Dubs close in All-Ireland finals and semi-finals.

Speaking on RTÉ Radio 1's Morning Ireland, the former Kerry star said: "I think it's a different Mayo team you have now, a different team that played the Dubs, and even if you go back through the Dublin team there are only five or six players that are playing now.

"It was very similar to when we played those Tyrone teams in the mid noughties and then we played down in Killarney [in 2012], it was different, it was not the same Tyrone team.

"I don't think Mayo are at the level they were. Them and Dublin were the top two teams; the best games for a period of five or six years were the Dublin-Mayo matches.

"I'm not wetting my lips. I don't know what to expect from Mayo; they have not been firing on all cylinders and I think they are struggling in certain areas in terms of scoring. I know it's a cliché to say it bit I do think there are issues there.

"Sunday's game won't whet the appetite like the other Dublin-Mayo games."
