TNT Sports make decision on Jermaine Jenas role for Southampton vs Man United TV clash

Jermaine Jenas will not feature on TNT Sports' coverage of Southampton vs Manchester United this weekend, though it's understood that a decision has yet to be reached concerning his long-term future with the broadcaster.

The former Premier League star and BBC presenter was sacked in August due to allegations of inappropriate behaviour. Jenas, 41, who had also been a host for The One Show, has subsequently been absent from TNT where he served in various capacities, such as Formula E host and Premier League match commentator.

After commentating on the opening Premier League game between Ipswich Town and Liverpool for TNT, Jenas has not been on air. Ally McCoist took over co-commentary duties for Brighton's matches against United and Arsenal before the international break. This Saturday, Jenas will miss out again for the Southampton vs United fixture.

While TNT Sports hasn't made a final public statement regarding Jenas' role, his career setbacks continue as talkSPORT have dropped him. He was making an appearance as a presenter when news of his BBC departure emerged, reports the Mirror.

"We were made aware of a breaking news story involving Jermaine Jenas as he went on air for a one-off presenting slot on talkSPORT Drive," said a spokesperson from talkSPORT. "We made a decision - with Jermaine - that he should continue to present the show."

The statement issued read: "Given the array of serious allegations being reported as the story continues to evolve, it's for Jermaine as a private individual to address them in the way he chooses. There are no plans for Jermaine to broadcast as a presenter on talkSPORT
