Titans break through for first NRLW win

Gold Coast are celebrating their history-making first NRLW victory after shutting down the Sydney Roosters in Wollongong.

Their win highlighted Sunday afternoon's round two action, where Brisbane and St George Illawarra also won.

In their first season in the competition, the Titans were dominant from the outset, running for almost 200 more metres and breaking 28 more tackles in a 26-16 triumph.

Gold Coast captain Brittany Breayley-Nati dedicated the win to those impacted by Queensland's flooding.

"It was so good ... good to improve on last week's performance," she told the Nine Network.

"The girls really did it tough, we had a big week training to come back bigger and better and we really did that this week.

"Special mention to the people in Logan and southeast Queensland ... that game was for you guys."

Teenage debutant Jasmine Peters opened the scoring with a significant solo effort, fighting off Roosters' defenders with pure strength to find the line on four minutes.

A brilliant kick from Grace Griffin found Karina Brown in the corner for her first NRLW try, but Roosters winger Leianne Tufuga benefitted from strong team play to pull it back to 10-6 following an outstanding sideline conversion from Hannah Southwell.

The Titans immediately responded with a bulldozing try from former Rooster Tazmin Gray before Breayley-Nati bruised her way through to score under the post for 22-6.

The Roosters found tries through Sarah Togatuki and Olivia Kernick and were within six with three minutes to play, but Breayley-Nati finished it off with her second try in the final minute.

Earlier, superstar Brisbane duo Millie Boyle and Tamika Upton led the Broncos to a 28-10
