Tipping Point viewers comment on 'overly smiley' contestant who didn’t make it past first round

An 'overly smiley' Tipping Point contestant captured the hearts of fans of the ITV show. But sadly he didn't win the cash price.

Viewers to flocked to Twitter to comment on Stephen's time on the show, which he seemed to thoroughly enjoy. The charity manager from Leeds seemed keen to answer as many questions as possible and seemed incredibly happy to be on TV.

However, unfortunately, Stephen’s joy didn’t carry him quite far enough to leave with money at the end of the show. He left only after the first round of the ITV gameshow .

It was clear from the very first question of the game show that Stephen was a keen player as he quickly pressed his buzzer, whilst host Ben Shephard was asking a question to the contestants about the Spice Girls. Perhaps too keen, Stephen’s quick answer was incorrect.

However, still hot on the buzzer, Stephen buzzed in for the very next question about Harry Potter. Thankfully, he answered correctly.

One of the first viewers to comment on Stephen on the show was @anna_and_pickle who tweeted: “Stephen’s a bit keen #TippingPoint ”. Stephen is overly smiley #tippingpoint."

Towards the end of the first round of the show, it was revealed that Stephen would not be progressing to the second round of Tipping Point. Commenting on this, @RickJapper tweeted: “ #tippingpoint poor Stephen, he seemed a nice fella." While @Stuart76384244 added: “Stop smiling Stephen, you’re going home #TippingPoint.”
