TikToker shares Lidl's best low-calorie foods she ate to lose five stone in a year

A TikToker who lost five stone in just a year by following a calorie controlled diet has shared her go-to low-calorie options from Lidl. Shannon Mitchell, 26, from Belfast, visits Lidl twice a week to shop her weight loss favourites.

The estate agent decided to make a change to her habits and lifestyle last summer after topping the scales at 14st 7lbs. Initially she set her sights on slimming down to 11st, but quickly hit that target at Christmas and continued to drop another two and a half stone.

As of June this year Shannon’s weight sits between a svelte 9st and 9st 7lbs. The estate agent posts healthy eating tips to her Instagram, @shannon_mitch , and TikTok where she has a combined 20.3k followers.

In her latest food shopping TikTok Shannon heads to Lidl to buy her weekly low-calorie and high-protein foods that help to stop her “snacking”. As part of her new healthy habits Shannon says she still enjoys snacking on chocolate and crisps occasionally.

The first thing Shannon does is head for the fruit aisle where she fills her basket with “very reasonably priced” berries, watermelon, grapes, peaches, and cherries. She eats these with her breakfast each day.

She then moves on to the cereal aisle where she chooses the Crownfield high-protein granola , honey and seed flavour or cranberry flavour, which she says tastes “unbelievable”. This totals 202 calories for a 45g serving and costs £1.49. To accompany this Shannon buys Lidl’s own high-protein puddings or Lidl high-protein yoghurts which are 162 calories per pot.

Next up Shannon moves on to Lidl’s low calorie ready meals. She picks up the Fit
