Three people in hospital after two-vehicle smash
Three people have been taken to hospital after a collision in Rochdale, police have confirmed.
The emergency services response on Saturday afternoon led to the closure of a busy main route into the town centre.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the collision involved two vehicles.
Three people have been taken to hospital as a result, but the extent of their injuries hasn't been revealed by police.
It's thought officers from GMP's serious collision investigation unit, however, did not attend the scene.
The crash was reported just before 1.10pm on the A58 Manchester Road in Rochdale - from Sudden up towards the town centre.
The vehicles involved were not described.
No ages or sexes for the injured parties were revealed by police either.
The road was closed eastbound towards Rochdale town centre between the busy Roch Valley Way and New Barn Lane.
It's understood the collision occurred near to the petrol station.
Buses were diverted away from the scene, with Diamond Bus North West and Go North West services hit.
The collision led to congestion on surrounding routes, including Queensway, Bury Road and Mellor Street.
The road was reopened at 3.30pm.
