Chelsea have not been in the richest vein of form of late.

A 2-0 win against Tottenham before the break was badly needed but only narrowed the gap between themselves and Manchester City to 10 points. Pep Guardiola's men also boast a game in hand.

So it is only natural that £97million was spent bringing Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge from Inter Milan, to hopefully solve that problem.

But with just eight goals in 24 appearances, questions have been asked whether the Belgian is truly the answer to their attacking riddle.

This summer will see Erling Haaland become available for a cut-price fee as his €75m (£62.5m) release clause at Borussia Dortmund becomes active, and Chelsea have been regularly linked with the 21-year-old.
