Thomas Tuchel makes huge Armando Broja Chelsea transfer decision amid West Ham's '£30m bid'

Thomas Tuchel is "fighting" to keep hold of Chelsea striker Armando Broja this summer, according to reports. The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge in the transfer window, having impressed in his debut campaign last time out.

The Albania international spent last year with Southampton on loan, making 32 Premier League appearances with six goals and one assist. Since his return, the striker's future has been unclear, with a desire for first-team minutes again next campaign.

West Ham are one of a number of sides linked, though the Hammers are said to have made a £30million bid and are in contact with the Blues over a transfer. Despite that, Tuchel has openly admitted that he doesn't expect the academy graduate to leave the club.

“I don’t expect Armando to leave,” Tuchel said. “We are aware of offers and interest, which tell us there is a lot of potential. We will take this decision together with me, the owners and also the player. When he arrived [in the US for pre-season], it was clear he was trying to impress to try and become a Chelsea player as soon as possible after his loan at Southampton.

“The situation was clear - to make the next step and show his improvement and make an impression but unfortunately, he injured himself.”

Broja is now back in England after leaving the camp in a protective boot, suffering with an injury. While there still remains uncertainty surrounding his future, Fabrizio Romano reports that Tuchel is fighting to keep the striker at the club as he is a "big fan" of him.
