Locals were woken by the sound of an air ambulance this morning following a horrific incident near a supermarket in Bury.

According to eye witness reports, the man was trapped under a tractor that he was unloading from a HGV. The man suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries according to GMP.

Speaking to the MEN one passer-by said: "I heard the ambulance this morning. That’s what woke me up so I went to Asda and saw loads of police and firemen.

"The ambulance parked up on Matalan car park and the firemen were cutting him out of the tractor but I couldn’t see him."
