Third Riyadh International Marathon to be held on Feb. 10, 2024

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Sports for All Federation announced the date of the third edition of the Riyadh International Marathon, which will be held on Feb. 10, 2024 in the capital with direct support from the Ministry of Sports, the official SPA news agency reported on Thursday.

The annual event aims to encourage all members of society to practice physical activity and participate in sporting events, in line with the objectives of the Quality of Life Program and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The event constitutes a vital international sports destination to enhance the growth of the sports and tourism economy in the Kingdom.

Registration for the 42.2-km marathon will open in the coming period through the Riyadh Marathon website or through the Sports for All app.

Participants and running enthusiasts, men and women, from across the Kingdom and the world can also register in races designed to suit different abilities and fitness levels.

The half marathon distance, equivalent to 21.1 km, was allocated for running enthusiasts; a 10-km race for those aged 17 and over; and a 4-km race for beginners and children of all ages.

The upcoming edition of the marathon will offer virtual and field training programs that will be scheduled and announced via the federation’s website and social media accounts, targeting those wishing to participate in this event.

It will also host a “Marathon Village” entertainment area featuring accompanying sporting events, a food and beverage area, and many other activities for visitors and participants in the marathon over two days (Feb. 9 and 10).
