Thieves raided Nick Grimshaw Ibiza party villa in shock incident while DJ and family slept

A villa in Ibiza rented by TV and radio star Nick Grimshaw to celebrate his 40th birthday was raided by thieves while he and his family and friends slept.

The incident is believed to have taken place some weeks ago in Ibiza, where the podcaster and DJ from Oldham, who is also on Channel 4's Celebrity Gogglebox, was celebrating his milestone birthday with immediate family, including his mother Eileen and his fiance Meshach Henry, WalesOnline reports.

A source told The Sun, which first reported the story, that "there have been a spate of attacks in luxury villas across Ibiza this summer".

They said: "Sadly, Nick's villa was on the target list - simply due to it being known for being used by high-net-worth clients.

"The gang would have had no idea who he was. Sadly it's a case of the wrong place at the wrong time, but it's scary, to say the least. Nick was obviously upset, but thought best to keep things off social media."

They added: "When the raid happened, Grimmy, his mum and his friends were in the villa. Luckily they were asleep but it was unsettling to wake up, to say the least."

Nobody was hurt during the incident and Grimshaw is back in London already, the PA news agency understands. Grimshaw left BBC Radio 1 in August 2021 following 14 years of hosting a variety of shows across the network and now co-hosts the Sidetracked podcast alongside DJ Annie MacManus.
