‘They’ve let Bielsa down’ - Sky Sports man blasts Leeds United

Joe Thomlinson has been speaking on the Football Daily YouTube channel about how Leeds United have not backed Marcelo Bielsa.

It appears that Leeds United put all of their eggs in one basket and that was when they were looking to sign Brenden Aaronson from RB Salzburg with the Premier League side submitting two separate bids, with both of them being rebuffed.

Bielsa has had to deal with injuries to key players such as Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford and Liam Cooper all season and it doesn’t seem like the board are willing to help their manager out with Phil Hay confirming that now arrivals are expected before the 11 PM deadline.

Thomlinson has slammed Leeds for not backing Bielsa this month.

(35:51) “They’ve let Bielsa down I think that strategically this winter they obviously went for Aaronson out in Salzburg and they went in heavy with two bids at £20 million I think and now they’re not going to go in with a third.

“I’m telling you if they let Summerville go out on loan and don’t bring in another player to cover for someone who I think is an excellent player, it’s a comical window.”

TIF Thoughts on Leeds’ transfer window…

While Leeds are said to be determined to land Aaronson when the summer window opens according to Hay (30:30), their failure to bring in any new faces this window could have serious implications for their future in the Premier League.

Leeds did not splash a huge amount of cash over the summer either, but they did manage to bring in Daniel James, however, with Leeds still flirting with the bottom three in the Premier League, it may have been a smart move to hand Bielsa some more funds this winter.
