'They're not perfect' - Arsenal seek to quash Man City theory as Gunners step up title talk

Manchester City and Arsenal remain locked in a two-horse title race after both Premier League contenders recorded weekend wins.

The Gunners beat Tottenham 3-2 in the North London derby, surviving a late scare having looked on course for a comfortable victory at three up at the break. City responded with a hard-fought 2-0 success at Nottingham Forest in the late game.

The upshot is the two sides are separated by a point with Arsenal leading the way but City having a game in hand. The Blues are title favourites as they chase a fourth successive crown and they have the added advantage of having chased down the Gunners last season.

But Arsenal are confident they are made of sterner stuff this time around with Bukayo Saka and Mikel Arteta sensing a change in mentality. That won't matter if City win their final four games as that secures the title regardless of what the Gunners manage but the Emirates camp insist they will remain in the hunt to the final day this time.

"City are an amazing team but they’re not perfect - no one’s perfect," said Saka. "They can drop points, we just need to do our job. There is not much room for error, they showed that last year and the years before.

"We’ve got experience now, learnt our lessons last year and we’re ready for the last three games. Last season that (game against Tottenham) could have ended in a draw but today we showed that we have the experience now."
