There's A Stunning Report Claiming Cristiano Ronaldo Is NOT Injured, Asked To Be Left Out Of Squad
That's according to a supposedly reliable social media account that Ronaldo actually follows on Instagram.
The 37-year-old refuted the idea and insisted he be left out of the squad entirely for today's derby clash.
On Saturday, they claimed: "Manchester United's manager wants to enter with a different game strategy in tomorrow's game and has chosen to defend himself more, a purely tactical choice.
"Ronaldo won't even be on the bench."
The stunning report comes after Ronaldo has been ruled out of the Premier League match.
Ronaldo has started Man United's last five games since being dropped to the bench against Burnley last month.
At Turf Moor, Rangnick opted for Edinson Cavani up front - with the German boss eventually bringing on Ronaldo in their 1-1 draw.
Though Cavani is also unavailable, leaving Marcus Rashford as the club's only recognised forward.
The Athletic's report suggested Bruno Fernandes could operate as a false No.9 against Man City, with Ronaldo and Cavani absent.
Official team news will drop at 3:30pm (U.K time).
