The Undertaker: Stone Cold Steve Austin turned down controversial angle with WWE legend

Stone Cold Steve Austin outright rejected a controversial storyline WWE proposed for him featuring The Undertaker.

The Undertaker and Stone Cold are two of WWE’s biggest-ever stars, featuring in some of the most iconic matches and feuds in wrestling history.

Despite that, the pair have been involved in some pretty wacky angles too, but those are just the ones that made it to TV.

Speaking of one of the angles that was so bad it didn’t even make it to TV, WWE asked Stone Cold whether or not he’d be interested in being presented as a stalker of The Undertaker’s wife.

The storyline ended up taking place on TV, with Diamond Dallas Page in the stalker slot, and that on’y happened because Austin rejected WWE’s initial pitch.

Speaking to GiveMeSport back in 2018, DDP explained that Austin didn’t want to be presented that way, and told WWE that he wouldn’t be doing the angle.

They wanted [Stone Cold Steve] Austin to do it. And Austin is like ‘f**k that!’

Stone Cold Steve Austin, having not wrestled since 2003, came out of retirement for a big match at WrestleMania 38 in April of this year.

At the show, Stone Cold wrestled in an impromptu match against Kevin Owens, with the high-profile bout actually main eventing night one of the show.

The Undertaker was also involved in the show too, going into the WWE Hall of Fame as the headline act for the 2022 class.

At the show, the multi-time WWE Champion teased that he isn’t fully done with wrestling yet, despite retiring in 2020, which caught the attention of many fans.

Stone Cold on the other hand has said that’s isn’t going to wrestle again following his final match earlier this year, but has said he’ll likely be involved with WrestleMania 39 in a non-wrestling capacity next year.
