The seven West Ham internationals who could feature against Reading FC in pre-season friendly

Reading FC will step up their preparations for the new season tomorrow (Saturday) as they welcome Premier League side West Ham United to the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Paul Ince's side will take on David Moyes' Hammers in Berkshire, with just two weeks to go until Reading kick off the new Championship season against Blackpool on Saturday, July 30. So far, Royals have faced Colchester United, Benfica and Maidenhead United in pre-season, and West Ham are expected to provide a stern test.

The Hammers split their squad in two for matches in midweek, with one facing League One side Ipswich Town at Portman Road in midweek and winning the game 2-1, thanks to goals from Kurt Zouma and Daniel Chesters as Moyes' men held off the Tractor Boys with a team that included Michail Antonio, Pablo Fornals, Aaron Cresswell and Lukasz Fabianski.

Another West Ham side faced National League side Boreham Wood and drew the game 1-1 on the same night, with Darren Randolph, Angelo Ogbonna, Issa Diop, Arthur Masuaku, Said Benrahma and Manuel Lanzini among the first-team regulars involved at Meadow Park.

But there were plenty of international players not involved for West Ham in midweek in either match, with the possibility that some of those returning later to pre-season due to their international commitments in June could be involved against Reading.

That includes England duo Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen, French goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, Czech Republic duo Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek, summer signing Nayef Aguerd and Croatian forward Nikola Vlasic. None of them have featured yet in pre-season matches for the Hammers, but could be involved this weekend.
