The Rolling Stones are set for their first Liverpool gig in 50 years

More than half a century of hit songs and worldwide album sales of more than 200 million records. The extraordinary, and enduring, career of The Rolling Stones shows little signs of waning.

The rock 'n' roll legends will be marking another milestone in their extraordinary career this year, by celebrating their 60th year together as a band. And the European tour that is saluting their six decades in the spotlight, SIXTY, will be touching down in Liverpool on June 9.

It will be The Rolling Stones first appearance in the city since 1971, with this special, one-off concert at Anfield being their only UK stadium gig. It's also their first UK date on the tour, which will include performances in cities such as London, Paris, Madrid and Milan during June and July.

Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood - joined by musicians including Steve Jordan on the drums - will be treating fans to a set list packed full of classics such as Satisfaction, Paint It Black, Tumbling Dice, Sympathy for the Devil and Gimme Shelter. Alongside this, there'll be other surprises from more than half a century’s worth of classic hits by the band.

As always, when The Rolling Stones come to town, they will bring an incredible production and state of the art stage design along with them.

The company organising the tour, AEG Presents, is behind festivals such as California’s famed Coachella and venues including The O2 in London. As the Liverpool gig looms, the company said it was looking forward to the special atmosphere that Anfield will provide for the performance.
