The Rock: Surprising update on Dwayne Johnson's daughter's imminent WWE debut
Dwayne ‘The Rock‘ Johnson’s daughter, Simone Johnson, is set to undergo a surprise change when she makes her WWE debut soon.
For quite some time now, Simone Johnson, The Rock’s daughter, has been training with WWE at the NXT Performance Center.
Johnson, who is still only 20, signed with WWE in 2020, but has yet to make an appearance on TV or have her debut match.
However, that appears to be changing soon, as Simone has received a new name, likely leading to her making her first appearance on NXT 2.0.
Simone tweeted out a GIF, and fans noticed that she’d changed her name on the social media platform, and is now going by Ava Raine.
It isn’t too surprising to see WWE change wrestlers’ names before a TV debut, as this happens all the time.
However, some fans were left surprised by this one in particular, mainly considering who Simone’s father is.

Many fans thought that, because of how famous The Rock is, being one of the most recognisable names in the world, WWE would want to give Simone the boost of being associated with him.
That could still happen though, as just because Simone’s name has been changed and has nothing to do with Dwayne Johnson or The Rock, is doesn’t mean that her relation to him won’t be acknowledged.
Some have also speculated, after seeing her new name, that WWE didn’t want to give Simone the immediate pressure of being associated with one of the GOATs, which does make sense in fairness.
As of right now, WWE hasn’t announced when Ava Raine will be making her NXT 2.0 debut, with that almost certainly being the place she’ll make her first appearance at.
