The Mancunian Way: An unknown killer

As the weather gets warmer, Manchester is beginning to gear up for its summer festivities.

But for one family, each summer brings a painful anniversary of a life cruelly taken and a murder investigation never solved.

Robert Hart was killed at Parklife music festival on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Detectives believe he was punched by an 'unknown male assailant' in an attack after the 26-year-old had stepped in to protect his girlfriend, who was being hit with an inflatable toy. He died a few days later after his injuries proved fatal.

Despite extensive enquiries, Robert’s killer has never been traced. As the 10th anniversary of his death approaches, detectives have issued a fresh appeal for information - with a £50,000 reward offered for information leading to his killer's conviction.

Robert would have turned 36 this year. The former Fallibroome pupil was one of four children.

Elaine previously described her son as the 'perfect gentleman' to the Manchester Evening News. She said: "We will always be devastated at the loss of Rob. He was one of four children, two girls and two boys, who were all the best of friends.

"We still don’t understand why this happened to such a gentleman, he was so funny and well liked by everyone, no-one had a bad word to
