The Manchester United stars whose Old Trafford days could be numbered this summer

Manchester United head into the summer transfer window hoping to fine-tune their squad as they seek further improvement.

Erik ten Hag's first season at Old Trafford has been a success with the Carabao Cup in the trophy cabinet and Champions League football set to be secured. The FA Cup could still follow when they take on Manchester City at Wembley next month.

United have made a striker their top target. Harry Kane is Ten Hag's No.1 attacking addition, while Victor Osimhen is also of interest. United are also keeping tabs on Rasmus Højlund and Randal Kolo Muani as cheaper alternatives if they are unable to sign either of their two preferred options.

Ten Hag is keen on adding another creative midfielder to their side at the end of the season too, though this is one area in which they most likely won't be able to afford a top target. Extra depth could also be added with fresh additions in a couple of positions and the sale of fringe players. It means for some senior United stars, they could be entering their final few weeks at the club.

The club captain has lost his place in the side under Ten Hag and it’s difficult to see how he gets it back. Victor Lindelof’s form since he was thrust into the side has been good while Luke Shaw has shown his ability at centre-back. Maguire is still under contract and could command a half-decent fee with other Premier League sides likely to be interested. It feels the right time for all concerned if he parts ways this summer.
