The Greater Manchester tourist tour named one of the best in UK by Tripadvisor

With the Euros in full swing, it’s rather fitting that a football-themed attraction in Manchester has been named among the best things to do in the UK according to Tripadvisor. The Manchester City Stadium Tour was included in a list of the top ten visitor experiences in the country based on data from the travel review site.

The tour gives football fans a behind the scenes look at Etihad Stadium so they can get up close to the home of Manchester City FC. It includes a walk through the tunnel onto the pitch, a peek at the dressing rooms and even ‘interacting’ with Pep Guardiola in the press room using the latest technology.

It came in fifth place, beating the likes of the Jack the Ripper Walking Tour in London and the Edinburgh Castle Guided Walking Tour in Edinburgh. The list was topped by a Historical Pub Walking Tour of London for the second year running.

It was followed by the Original Harry Potter Locations Tour in second place, also in the capital. In nearby Liverpool, the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour ranked in third place.

The list was revealed as Tripadvisor announced the winners of its 2024 Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Things to Do. It’s based on TripAdvisor data from millions of travellers across the globe.

The awards included the flagship categories of Top Overall Experiences and Top Attractions, along with sub-categories such as Family-Friendly, Food & Drink, and Nature & Outdoor. The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto, Portugal was named the top experience worldwide, while the Empire State Building in New York City, USA, was named the top attraction in the world.
