This weekend will see the FA Cup fifth round take place and clubs up and down the country will be dreaming of taking another step closer to Wembley.

Arsenal were the shock casualties of the third round, losing to Nottingham Forest in the East Midlands to end their hopes of silverware in the 2021-22 campaign.

But London's other Premier League representatives all made it through. Chelsea beat Chesterfield, Tottenham survived a scare against Morecambe, West Ham beat Leeds, Brentford saw off Port Vale and Crystal Palace edged past Millwall.

Anything can happen in the FA Cup, however, and each side will be taking no chances against their next opponents, with Thomas Tuchel preparing for the visit of Plymouth Argyle and West Ham facing a trip to Kidderminster.

There is even greater risk of an upset now after it was decided that replays would be scrapped for the third and fourth round, leaving any underdogs with a shot at making history.

The decision was announced in December that replays are not going to feature once more with fixtures piling up following postponements due to Covid-19.

Last season, replays were also scrapped for the same reasons.

A statement on The FA’s official website read: “We can today confirm that replays have been removed in both the third and fourth rounds of the 2021/22 Emirates FA Cup.
