The events cancelled or still going ahead after the Queen's death — live updates

After the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, and with Operation London Bridge in full effect, events across Wales and the UK will be called off as a mark of respect. Friday's EFL football fixtures have been cancelled and many venues including the Royal Opera House and Legoland Windsor has announced a one-day closure.

The planned RMT rail strikes, scheduled for September 15 and 17, have been called off. General secretary Mick Lynch said: "We express our deepest condolences to her family, friends and the country."

Across Wales and the wider UK, people have been paying tribute to the Queen - including Sir Tom Jones and Dame Shirley Bassey. You can read the latest tributes being published here.

The King and Camilla - now the Queen Consort - remained at Balmoral overnight and will return to London on Friday. It is expected that Charles will be officially proclaimed King on Saturday.
