The dilemma facing Steve Cooper after 'outstanding' Nottingham Forest performance

Goalkeeper Ethan Horvath may well have given Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper a decision to make after a trio of solid performances.

The American has more than grasped his opportunity between the posts while Brice Samba has served a three-match suspension.

After clean-sheets against Preston North End and Bristol City, Horvath came close to making it a hat-trick at Sheffield United.

The Reds were much the better side at Bramall Lane, with their shot-stopper having a relatively quiet evening compared to his opposite number.

He still made some good saves when required, only for Billy Sharp to put the hosts ahead with 20 minutes remaining when he headed in at the far post.

Midfielder Ryan Yates ensured his team came away with a point, netting a dramatic equaliser right at the death for a 1-1 draw, though.

And Cooper says Horvath can be pleased with his contribution, both against the Blades and in his previous two outings.

“He was very decent,” said the Welshman.

“There was no blame for the goal conceded, but he’ll probably be disappointed that it wasn’t three clean-sheets.

“He’s done well, let’s be honest.

“His distribution was good again, he was strong off set-pieces and his decision-making was good.

“He was one of 11, 12, 13, 14 players who contributed to an outstanding performance. That has to be the focus, how well we played in what is one of the toughest away games you’re going to get.

“I’m just pleased it was on telly and a lot of people saw a really good Nottingham Forest team.
