The cinema blockbusters to watch with your children over the summer holidays

With the summer holidays coming up, parents will be looking for ways to keep their children busy and entertained.

Over the coming months, several cinema blockbusters will be released, with a mixture of new animated and adventure arriving on screens just in time for the holidays.

With the weather in Greater Manchester being very unpredictable at the moment, a trip to the cinema is the perfect way to spend your free time.

Here’s a list of the upcoming blockbusters coming to theatres over the following months that you might fancy:

Barbie:

With this being her debut live-action film, Barbie makes her way to the big screen on Friday, July 21. The movie stars Margot Robbie as as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken. The story follows Barbie trying to save her home world.

Families can also get a free limited edition cup to anyone who has a valid ID stating the name ‘Ken’.

Release date: Friday, 21st July (12A)

Elemental:

A list without a Pixar film just wouldn’t feel complete. Elemental is their new project and is currently in cinemas to view now.

The film follows the four elements consisting of fire, water, air and land where they will see how much they have in common with each other starring Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie.

Release date: Friday 7th July (PG)

Haunted Mansion:

Disney has been busy this summer with a remake of the classic ‘The Haunted Mansion’ coming soon, starring Jared Leto, Owen Wilson and LaKeith Stansfield.

The film follows a mother and son who call a team similar to Ghostbusters to come and get rid of supernatural spirits that have invaded their homes.
