The Champions League bonus Rangers are poised to land ahead of Braga showdowns

Rangers look set to secure a Champions League boost ahead of their Europa League quarter-final against Braga.

After defeat to Celtic on Sunday, it looks increasingly likely Ange Postecoglou will dethrone the Scottish Premiership champions.

That would see Rangers take the non-Champions path and enter at the second qualifying round stage.

It also means Gio van Bronckhorst would have to navigate three rounds before reached the Champions League group stage.

However, they are on course for a seeded draw out of the hat by ahead of their Europa League surge against the Portuguese side.

Before the first leg against Braga, Rangers ’ club coefficient figure stands at 40.250.

Second-placed Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv have a rating of 44.000 and sit two places above the Ibrox giants in the current coefficient standings.

Former Danish champions Midtjylland look set to take the non-champions route and have a ranking of 19.000.

Sturm Graz look set to finish as runners-up in Austria and have a coefficient ranking of 7.500, while second-placed Cypriot side APOEL FC have 18.000 points as it stands.

Kunyaspor, who are currently seeing off Fenerbache for second spot in Turkey, are ranked lowest with just 5.0000.

If the Premiership title is out of reach this season, Rangers could also reach the group stage if they win the Europa League.

The Ibrox club have not reached the group stage since in Walter Smith's final campaign as manager.
