The 12 longest scoring streaks in football history have been named - Lionel Messi 1st
Lionel Messi holds some of the most incredible football records.
The Argentine has won the most Ballon d’Ors (7), scored the most goals by a single player in a calendar year (91) and scored the most goals for one club (672).
Messi is also the footballer responsible for the longest scoring streak in the sport’s history.
The 34-year-old maestro set the record in early 2013, when he was was playing like a man possessed at Barcelona.
In the 2012/13 season, Messi scored 60 goals from 50 appearances across all competitions, including 46 in just 32 La Liga outings.
And during that ridiculous individual campaign, he found the back of the net in 21 (yes, TWENTY ONE) consecutive league games.
Insane, right? It’s a record that may never be broken, as no other player since the turn of the millennium has managed to get past the 15 mark.
According to the the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), only four other players have ever surpassed that number…
