TGI Fridays' festive £22 two-course meal sees supermarket Christmas dinners pale into insignificance
The festive season is upon us, which means it's time to indulge in festive favourites like pigs in blankets and eggnog. However, if you're seeking a twist on the traditional fare, TGI Fridays has unveiled its new Christmas-themed menu - which looks a lot more tempting than some of the more mediocre Christmas dinner offerings we've seen at supermarket chains.
As an American-style restaurant and cocktail bar, the limited-edition dishes have a unique US flair that are sure to delight fans of burgers and cheese – there's even a vegan option. Cheese lovers will be thrilled with choices such as Merry Cheesy Christmas (cheese ring doughnuts with a sweet and smoky seasoning, served with mozzarella dippers and cranberry and chilli jam) and Cajun Claus Mac and Cheese, which adds a kick with Cajun spices and more of that cranberry and chilli jam.
The main course offers Santa's Smashed Burger – two beef patties with all the trimmings, served with a Cajun cheese sauce, mozzarella dippers and cheese doughnuts. For those preferring plant-based options, the Very Merry Vegan burger features a vegan patty and vegan cheese, reports the Liverpool Echo.

To finish off the meal, TGI Fridays pairs chocolate and orange in a delicious gooey brownie served with orange sorbet. But it's not just about food, as there are plenty of festive drinks to get you in the mood.
These include a Christmas-themed martini paired with Black Forest flavours, and a 'Frostbite' cocktail, made with spiced rum, pineapple juice, lime and blue curaçao, topped with snowy foam and a marshmallow
