TFC ink CanMNT's Henry through 2022

Toronto FC has signed Canadian international defender Doneil Henry through 2022, the team announced on Friday.

Henry will be added to the roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and after he passes a physical.

“Doneil has good experience in the league and can provide us with some backline depth,” said Toronto FC head coach Bob Bradley said in a release. “He obviously has strong ties to Toronto and to the club and we know he’s excited to rejoin the team.”

Henry previously spent five seasons with TFC, making 93 appearances and scoring five goals for Toronto between 2010-2014.

The 29-year-old spent the last six months with LAFC and has also appeared for the Vancouver Whitecaps, Suwon Samsung Bluewings of the Korean K-League, West Ham United, Blackburn Rovers and AC Horsens of the Danish Superliga.

The Brampton, Ont. native has made 44 appearances for the Canadian men's national team.
