Terrifying water slide with 'sheer drop' that leaves you airborne has people startled

Most people like going on a water slide or two when they're on holiday.

However, one waterpark slide in Greece is leaving people in 'sheer terror' over its extreme drop.

The slide, which is said to be located in Rhodes, features a near 90-degree drop that is only for the brave. And people can't believe it's still in operation.

A video of the water slide was shared on Instagram by account @uniladadventure, as they wrote: "How is this water slide in Greece even open?"

People were then seen going on the slide – with them lifted up in the air as they experienced the sheer drop.

The post racked up more than 127,000 likes as many exclaimed their shock over the terrifying drop. "That's a waterfall, not a water slide," exclaimed one person. While another added: "What in the 90 degrees."

Another quipped: "Drops you all the way to Hades." While a fourth admitted: "Oh my god I think this is the scariest thing I've ever seen."

A fifth also chimed in: "In Canada we used to have slides like this in wild water kingdom and they took them away. This unlocked memories of sheer terror and the most fun I’ve ever had at a water park."

Many people claimed they'd seen the slide themselves and even been on it. One person wrote: "This water slide is real and it’s located in Rhodes. It’s design is old enough so the it’s too steep after the first drop as a result you get a massive airborne effect."

Another person added: "I am currently in Rhodes. I was there two days ago, and yes, that’s what I thought while standing in front of these."

While a third chimed in: "I went on this when I was like 10. For a split second I thought I was done for."
