Ten Hag and Murtough now using "personal contacts" to identify next Man Utd targets - journalist
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag is using his ‘personal contacts’ in the transfer market but deals for Paulo Dybala and Brian Brobbey are unlikely, according to journalist Dean Jones.
Lisandro Martinez, the Dutchman’s former defensive general at Ajax, was recently announced as their third signing of the summer but moves for attacking targets have not progressed.
Ten Hag is eager to put his mark on the Red Devils’ squad this summer and has already brought in three impressive names to that end, but it does not seem he is ready to stop just yet.
Following the signings of Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia, United were linked with a move for RB Leipzig forward Brobbey.
The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with Ajax, scoring seven goals in 13 appearances under Ten Hag. He even joked that he would follow the manager to Old Trafford in the coming years.
A report from Dutch outlet De Telegraaf has stated that Brobbey is set to sign permanently for the Dutch champions instead, informing Ten Hag in a personal conversation.
Paulo Dybala is another big name linked with a move to United this summer after the striker left Juventus at the end of last season.
But according to Tuttomercatoweb, Dybala has opted to sign for Jose Mourinho’s Roma side, snubbing United and Arsenal in the process.
