Swansea City transfer news as fresh Man City forward on radar and target admits admiration for 'big club' Swans

Swansea City are among a number of clubs chasing Manchester City youngster Morgan Rogers.

That's according to Darren Witcoop, assistant editor at the Mirror, who claims the Swans have expressed an interest in taking the 19-year-old on loan this summer.

The extent of Swansea's interest isn't yet clear, but sources have told WalesOnline that Rogers is likely to be of interest to a number of sides in the Championship. However, it's understood there hasn't been any concrete approach from anyone at this stage.

The winger spent last season loan at Bournemouth, but netted just one goal in 17 appearances in all competitions for the Cherries. Swansea were linked with a move back in January, shortly before his spell on the English south coast was cut short by boss Scott Parker, who decided not to name the starlet in his 25-man squad for the second half of the season.

Huddersfield Town and Blackpool were also linked at the time, and there's already a suggestion that the latter may well look to rekindle their interest this summer.

Rotherham United winger Chiedozie Ogbene insists he's happy with life in south Yorkshire, but has suggested he would be tempted if 'big club' Swansea City came calling.

Sources in south Yorkshire claim the Swans are keeping tabs on the Republic of Ireland international, although the Millers' decision to activate the option of a further 12 months on his current contract means Swansea will require a transfer fee if they wish to prise him away from the New York Stadium.
