Ex-Swans star Connor Roberts has seemingly hit back at Gareth Bale following the Real Madrid star's recent derby day banter this week.

Cardiff City boss Steve Morison had previously revealed that he'd been speaking to Bale in the run-up to Saturday's clash, adding that the Wales skipper was keen for a Bluebirds win so that he could 'hammer' Connor Roberts. Bale revealed his allegiance to his hometown club while on loan at Tottenham, where he enjoyed some banter with former Swan Joe Rodon.

But with Swansea cruising to a convincing 4-0 win, it's Roberts who has taken the bragging rights. After their win, the Swansea Twitter account even posted "That was for you @ConnorRobs ".

Roberts then replied: "Never in doubt. Heroes every single one of you they’ll never sing that," an apparent reference to Swansea's taunt over becoming the first team to complete South Wales Derby double.
