Suspended Alyssa Thomas receives support from teammate & coach after cheap shot on Caitlin Clark

If you need any more convincing that the WNBA is full of some of the most hateful and delusional athletes and coaches in professional sports, I have the proof. A teammate of Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas, who was suspended for, as the WNBA announced on Thursday, "recklessly making contact with her fist to the throat area of Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark," and Mercury Associate Head Coach, Kristi Toliver, both came to her defense with posts online.
Mack took to Threads, the second-most liberal social media site only behind Bluesky, to show support for Thomas. She wrote, "It’s FREE AT until AT FREE!! standing with my bestie."

There’s absolutely no defense for Thomas’ actions, but we do live in a world where millions have defended Karmelo Anthony for murdering Austin Metcalf, so not much surprises me nowadays.
