Susanna Reid responds to follower who said their 'heart bleeds' as she reveals wake-up time for ITV Good Morning Britain

Susanna Reid has responded to a social media follower who didn't appear to have sympathy for her early morning wake-up call for Good Morning Britain. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV news programme on Monday (February 27) alongside Ed Balls.

It was the first time Susanna has been seen in the studio in two weeks after she took a week off for the half-term break before returning to work last week where she ditched the studio to head to Ukraine where she reported live from the Kyviv days before a year was marked since Russia's invasion.

So today's show (Monday) marked her official first day back as she sat alongside Ed Balls while Ranvir Singh, who filled in for her during her time off, was back on new duties as she brought viewers the latest headlines.

Ahad of her return, Susanna spoke to The Sunday Times magazine for an article in which she revealed her daily routine. The 52-year-old offered a rundown of what an average day looks like for her, which begins with a 3.40am wake-up call from her alarm clock. She revealed that she gives herself five minutes in bed to check through her emails and the days' headlines before getting up to begin her day.

The mum-of-three said that the start of her day is quite rushed as she throws on a coat over her pyjamas and brushes her teeth before getting into the car, which has been sent to her home in order to take her to the ITV studio in time for her appearance on GMB.

But she doesn't catch a few extra winks while making her 25-minute journey to the London-based studio. She instead uses the time by reading through the newspapers and her briefs of the interviewees
