Survey shows which English clubs have the most annoying fans on social media - Arsenal 2nd

The Premier League is the most-watched sports league globally.

No matter who you talk to, wherever you are in the world, everyone has heard of it and, in the majority of cases, they will no doubt have an affinity to one of the 20 teams in the illustrious competition.

Every week, the world’s greatest footballers take the stage to play in front of humongous stadiums packed to the brim with supporters cheering on their side.

But away from the terraces, every fan loves to analyse the game and argue on whether their manager got the tactics right before dishing out the banter to rival fans.

And that banter can sometimes be savage.

Especially since the rise of social media, where football fans are now more readily able to share their opinions through Twitter and Facebook, some supporter groups may have become more vocal than others.

On that note, betting company Online Gambling have conducted a survey into which Premier League football club has the most annoying fans on social media.

Collecting their data from 2,000 supporters of clubs playing in the English top-flight, they have ranked each team by the proportion of votes their fanbase has received.

And there are several big clubs sitting at the top of the table.

Take a look at the results below.

10. West Ham – 2.4%

9. Brighton – 2.4%

8. Aston Villa – 3.7%

7. Leeds United – 3.8%

6. Tottenham Hotspur – 5.1%

5. Manchester City – 8.0%

4. Chelsea – 9.5%

3. Manchester United – 15.4%

2. Arsenal – 19.6%
