Survey: Have your say on pavement parking

Parking on the pavement is a contentious issue, and we want to hear your thoughts on it

The practice is already banned across London, with Scotland initially having been set to follow suit in 2021 before a delay until 2023. Local authorities outside of London are able to make orders to ban pavement parking on individual streets or in certain areas, but this requires a process of public consultation.

The Highway Code states that 'you MUST NOT park partially or wholly on the pavement in London', and also puts forward that 'parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs.'

However, it does not extend any enforcement of pavement parking outside of London, although the RAC advises 'people to use common sense when faced with no other option but to park on the pavement.'

With pavement parking still allowed across most of England, we want to hear your thoughts on whether a ban should be put into place. To do so, either fill in the below form or if you're having trouble seeing it, you can follow this link.

You can also share your thoughts in the comments section.
